Description

This is a heavy sterling dinner plate. It is hallmarked as sterling silver, made in London England in 1806/07 and with a paid duty mark. The plate bears the hallmark of William Burwash & Richard Sibley. The hallmarks are strongly impressed and clear to read. The bottom of the plate is also inscribed “7 . 19 11. ” Presumably meaning this was plate #7 in the set. The outer edge of the plate has an elaborate edge. There is a finely engraved coat of arms with fleur”-de-lis’ and christian cross. The diameter of the plate is 9 3/4 inches and the weight is 19.68 ounces. There are a couple of brown spots to be polished out but otherwise in excellent condition.   # S004
