Description
This is a small Sheraton mahogany table made about 1820. The mahogany legs are finely turned and have hand carved vertical reeds.The top is one mahogany board, 20 inches wide from virgin 200 year old mahogany. The drawer has tight dovetail construction and retains the original cast brass drawer pull. The lower skirts have inlet banded molding. This table was probably made in a seaport New England town by a very skilled craftsman. It is 35 1/2 inches wide, 29 inches tall and 20 1/2 inches deep. When the table is open it measures 35 1/2 inches x 40 1/2 inches and has curved corners. There is a 4 inch splinter missing from one of the leaf edges. # F009
