Description
This is a mid-eighteenth century English one drawer stand. It is 29 1/2 inches wide, 28 1/2 inches tall and 19 3/4 inches deep. The drawer pulls are the original hand cast pulls covered with gold gilding. The drawer front and bottom rail have delicate inlaid dentil lines, surrounded by inlaid work. It is made of pegged mortise and tenon joints and the wood is probably an English hardwood that I cannot identify. The drawer lock and left rear leg have been replaced and there is a large shrinkage crack on the top. It was probably made about 1750. The top edge is surrounded by inlay. # F 001
