Description

This is a very well made coin silver teapot, in the shape of a pumpkin. It is solid and heavy, weighing 32.8 ounces. The bottom bears the mark ” R&W WILSON ” and the mark ” STANDARD “. This silversmithing firm is listed as working in Philadelphia in 1831. Everything about the teapot is superbly done, the heavy lid fits perfectly the oversized hinge is massive and tight, the spout and handle are perfectly formed, and the bone handle insulators are tight. All of this sits on a ornate cast, 4 footed pedestal base. The width from handle to spout is 12 inches and the height is 5 1/2 inches.  The teapot is in excellent condition.  # S016
